Pagination Fix
We’ve fixed a small bug that was causing the left and right arrows to go missing on some projects. Pagination should be working for everyone now – sorry about that!
Prevue is a simple and elegant tool that allows you to upload and share you work. It's a private conversation between designer and client, and lets your work speak for itself.

We’ve been hard at work this weekend making some updates behind the scenes. Although the app is now fully updated (log in here), here’s what we’ve been tinkering with:
3x Faster Uploads
We’ve tweaked a few things to make uploading images a lot faster than before. Give an upload a try to see the difference.
Fullscreen Interface
We’ve got rid of that fading navigation bar in fullscreen view and replaced it with simple buttons that live in the top left of your screen. Hitting the up arrow no longer does anything… that was just plain annoying!
Replace a Prevue
After a short absence, we’ve re-instated the ‘Replace’ feature (read more). So you can now re-upload an existing Prevue without affecting it’s URL or style attributes.
Change your Password
A simple one… but if you change your password in Settings you’ll no longer have to log back into the app immediately after you save.
Bug Fixes
There were a bunch of weird little bugs that we’ve ironed out too. This includes an irritating issue that made re-ordering images hard. All fixed now!
One of the features we’re working on for Prevue Pro is something called ‘Client Areas’. And given that it’s quite a commonly requested feature, I thought I’d give you a little peek of how it works.
Area’s are a way of grouping together projects, so you can send your client a unique URL that contains all your latest work. It’s particularly useful if you’re a studio that has clients on retainer, or if you have multiple revisions of a project.
Let’s say we have an area called ‘Nike’ – we could send your client to yourstudio.revue.it/c/nike/ and keep that area updated with all the latest and greatest projects. Cool huh!
You are going to make mistakes, and people are going to point them out. It’s OK to feel upset – take that feeling and turn it inwards. Vow to make things better…. make sure you’re always producing the best quality product you can.
— Words we live by.
Although Prevue will be offline for a short while today - we’re making some substantial changes that we think will make the down-time worthwhile. Here are some of the updates we’re making.
First of all, thanks to all the generous donations that we received last week, we’ve been able to purchase newer, faster and more reliable servers. So after we move the app today, you’ll notice that Prevue will be much faster for you and your clients! Reliability is an important issue for us, and in our new home we’ll be able to maintain the up-time and responsiveness you’ve come to expect.
On Friday 16th December 2011 at 9am (GMT), Prevue will undergo scheduled maintenance - during this time you will be unable to add or delete your uploads.
I should formally introduce myself, I’m Buzz – the owner of Prevue, and also the only person behind this app. Designer, developer, and since I started building Prevue back in January 2008, I’m also the sole investor.
This Christmas I’m looking at making some substantial upgrades to the app that will improve on performance and reliability (notably investing in new servers, to compliment the recent switch to cloud hosting). Reliability is something I am dedicated to, as so many leading designers and agencies now use Prevue as their primary online-sharing tool. But this is something that’ll cost me… so that’s where you come in.
If you find Prevue useful, all I ask that you consider making a small donation to help keep the app running. In return, I can offer your account extra storage space, and the promise that Prevue will continue to provide the same outstanding service throughout 2012.

Today we updated our website and removed the references to using Prevue as a portfolio tool. The reason being that we’re discontinuing this feature…

Since we increased the space you earn for inviting new users to Prevue… you guys have been sharing like crazy! Here’s a screenshot of our CMS that shows new users - and since Tuesday, that’s sky-rocketed!
And whilst almost 7,000 members might not sound like a lot – it’s a perfect number for us, as it means we can continue to personally look after you and your account. So thanks for sharing - it really means a lot to us!
We use prevue all the time, if you’d let us pay for more storage, we definitely would.
